Located in a 7 acre walnut grove in the agricultural preserve north of Napa, the Ranch is a single-family residence with a garage, outdoor kitchen, and swimming pool. Set on a stone plinth, the elevated living areas provide panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains beyond. Gardens featuring native plantings buffer private areas from surrounding lawns while outdoor patios extend the indoor living areas into the landscape.

Custom fabricated Douglas fir windows & doors, board & batten siding, and stained cedar barn shingles place the design in the tradition of the California Arts & Crafts movement. A hybrid of conventional stick-framed and timber-framed wood construction, the house also features durable, glazed terra cotta roof tiles, copper gutters & downspouts, stained glass by a local artisan, and traditional, wood-burning masonry fireplaces.
